9 TO 5
Directed by James Boone
May 29-June 2, 2019

9 to 5, The Musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie.  Set in the late 1970s this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic.  Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss.  In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot!  While Hart remains “otherwise engaged,” the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down.  Hey a girl can scheme can’t she?  This high-energy show is ideal for a large, mostly female cast, but also has opportunities for talented male dancers.  With its jubilant score and easily reliable characters, 9 to 5 is the perfect show for community theatres.  Auditions  scheduled for April 1 & 2.

LOST IN YONKERS
Directed by Greg Swartz
July 24-28, 2019

(This show was originally scheduled for Jan. 30-Feb. 3, 2019.
Due to the work on the rigging and fly system on the JLT stage
it was necessary to move the show to this date.)

Written by Neil Simon, this play is considered one of is best.  When teen-age brothers, Arty and Jay, are forced to move in with their strict, German grandmother, their child-like aunt and their gangster uncle, they can’t help but feel a little lost.  Although surrounded by extended family, they are a dysfunctional bunch, providing little support for the boys.  Filled with laughter, tears and insight, Neil Simon’s Pulitzer Prize winning play explores themes of family, independence, courage and the complex relationship people have with those they love.
Auditions scheduled for June 3 & 4.
