JOPLIN LITTLE THEATRE is very happy to be presenting seven performances of this joyously funny comedy!
Monday – Saturday
July 20 – 25 at 7:30 pm
July 26 at 2:30 pm
This comedy is loosely based on the life of
actor/comedian/writer/director Carl Reiner and is a riotous
account of stage-struck David Kolowitz, who is working as a
delivery boy in a sewing machine shop. Denying his parent’s
wishes for a druggist in the family, he leaves their dreams and
his devoted girlfriend, Wanda, behind and is soon enlisted in
(and paying for) a slot as the leading man in a third-rate
theatrical company, while being vamped by the resident
less-than-leading lady, the daughter of the hammy
“artistic director.” His baptism of fire is a hilarious first
performance where everything that
can go wrong, DOES!
Directed by Lisa Olliges Green, the show features son David Green in the leading role and husband Greg Green as the “hammy artistic director.”
Cast members are:
David O’Neill, Greyson Lamp, Gina Robbins, S.Patrick James, Isaiah ‘Izzy’ Wallace, Jakob Butler, Abby Lundstrum Sheri Abrams-Browne, Jeff Phillips, Aubrey Chrisenberry, and Shaun Conroy.
